The Numbers Speak for Themselves
A 1995 Consumer Reports study found that the majority of people
who sought treatment for their mental health problems felt better
and were highly satisfied with the care they received. Plus, the
longer they stayed in treatment, the more they improved.
Similarly, a 2004 Psychology Today study found that 27 percent
of U.S. adults received mental health treatment between 2002 and
2004, 80 percent found it to be effective, and 85 percent said
that they were satisfied with their treatment.
